Story

Cenotes Urbanos started in 2018 as an initiative to achieve the conservation of the underground ecosystems of Playa del Carmen, through the social appropriation of them.

Throughout almost five years, Cenotes Urbanos is now consolidated as a recognized collective with the participation of more than 200 volunteers focused on the development of speleology and citizen science as tools for the conservation of caves and cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula, with the involment of the local community.
